After a brief conversation with a member of the Capstone team, you will be taken through a series of easy and painless tests (they often involve nothing more than placing your chin on a chin rest and looking straight ahead). These tests will allow us to assess your vision and prescription.
What Is the Lifelong Vision Partnership?
The Lifelong Vision Partnership (LVP) exam is the flagship comprehensive eye exam at Capstone Vision. During the LVP exam, your eyes will be thoroughly assessed from front to back using a combination of doctor expertise and the latest technology.
There are two levels of LVP, gold and silver.
The LVP-Silver is a thorough eye exam, including dilation of your pupils and your glasses prescription. Choose this exam if:
-
you feel that your vision is good with your current glasses or contacts and need an updated prescription.
-
you don’t wear glasses and need a good eye exam to check your eye health.
The LVP-Gold is a thorough eye exam, including safe, non-invasive, state-of-the-art digital imaging and analysis from your eyelids to the back of your eye, dilation of your pupils, and your glasses prescription. Choose this exam if:
-
you want to know your options to finally get rid of your glasses and contacts!
-
you feel your vision “isn’t quite right” with your current glasses or contacts.
-
there is a new change in your vision.
-
you have dry, scratchy, red, or painful eyes.
-
you want to know more about your cataracts.
-
you just want all the cool, state-of-the-art digital tests! Nothing wrong with that!
We treat each patient as an individual and take the time to get to know you, your needs, and your lifestyle before making any recommendation for your vision correction.
Everyone is unique, and what is right for your friend’s vision might not be right for you. Your individualized Lifelong Vision Partnership exam will show you what is best for you. You can trust in years of experience and training to guide your eye care needs.

What To Expect During the Lifelong Vision Partnership Exam
Natural Vision Timeline
Teen Vision: Ages 13–17
As you grow and go through puberty, your eyes are changing along with the rest of your body. At Capstone Vision, we recognize the importance of creating a plan to get your vision to the best it can be. During your teen vision consultation, you will discuss your vision history with the doctor and decide on ways to make your eyes healthy and ready for LASIK or PRK once your eyes are fully grown. Come in for a consultation to get more information about your eyes and develop a vision care plan.
Ocular Maturity: Ages 18–45
Once your eyes have finished growing, you become eligible for refractive surgery to reduce your dependence on glasses and contacts. Procedures like LASIK or ASA can improve your astigmatism, hyperopia, or myopia. Experience the freedom of a glasses-free life and explore the refractive surgery options available at Capstone Vision below.
Loss of Near Vision: Ages 40–55
As your eyes get older, you may notice that you are less able to focus on things up-close and in small print. When this happens, you may find yourself holding your phone or newspaper farther away from your face in order to see clearly. In dim light, it may be nearly impossible to read small print. This is called presbyopia, and it happens as your eyes age. At Capstone Vision, we can fix presbyopia by using an inlay or a procedure called Refractive Lens Exchange.
Cataract Development: Ages 55+
If your vision has dimmed in recent years—making things look clouded or blurry—you may have cataracts. Cataracts may cause you to feel uncomfortable driving at night due to increased sensitivity to light, seeing halos, and glare. You may also find you need brighter light for reading and other activities and need frequent changes in eyeglass or contact lens prescription. At Capstone Vision, we offer a permanent surgical solution to your cataracts. Cataract surgery is the most common surgery in America, and here at Capstone Vision, we work with you to customize your vision to your needs.
